This Meeting is dedicated for the EUMEDplus project partners and beneficiaries to discuss the management, and implementation plans with a focus on the role of project partners and beneficiaries. Participants include DG-NEAR, GEANT, ASREN, NORDUNET, CYNET, SESAME, AUB, CNRST, CCK, CERIST, ENSTINET, JUNet, Libya & Palestine. Details will be shared directly with the meeting participants.

This session will include high-level update on the recent developments in R&E infrastructures in the Arab Countries. Challenges are also included.
Session 3: Debate on “Next Generation NRENs” 11:30-12:30
This session will discuss the future of NRENs given the new challenges and looking at the opportunities and how NRENs can be innovative and adapt to trends. Panelists will represent various regional and national networks.

This Session is about Science Cooperation and is conducted in coordination with UNESCO Multisectoral Regional Office in Beirut with main focus on discussing the outcomes of the recent Conference of the Parties (COPs) on Climate, Biological Diversity, and Anti-Desertification.

Session 5: Women in STEM, Overcoming Challenges, Inspiring Success 16:00-17:30
This session will be led by women from the region, highlighting inspiring success stories of women in STEM fields across various age groups, career stages, and geographical areas. It will explore how they navigate day-to-day challenges—ranging from family obligations and country policies to economic constraints—and their determination to thrive in these fields despite the obstacles they face.

This session will present the status of deploying UNESCO’s Recommendations on Open Science at both national and regional levels. It will focus on successes, failures, and challenges. The session will be coordinated and organized with UNESCO Multisectoral Regional Office in Beirut.

Session 7.1: Roles and Responsibilities of Open Science Stakeholders

This session will bring together key stakeholders in Open Science (Libraries, Policy, Data Providers, PID, Cloud, and Infrastructure) to discuss the role of each in shaping a shared agreement on advancing Open Science.
Session 7.2: Open Science Platforms: The Way Ahead

This Session will discuss the mechanisms of Open Science service provision with an overview of recent efforts such as EOSC, AOSP. It will discuss the way ahead towards the Arab Regional Open Science Cloud (AROSC).

Session 8: Empowering Young Arab Researchers: Navigating Data Management, Tools, and AI 14:00-15:30
Selected young Arab researchers (50% female) will have the opportunity to present their submissions through brief, 5-minute talks, sharing their personal research practices, challenges, and solutions across the various stages of the research data lifecycle. At the end, one researcher will be awarded for their exceptional contribution.
